{"id":632,"date":"2013-08-21T23:44:00","date_gmt":"2013-08-21T23:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/suigenerisbrewing.com\/index.php\/2013\/08\/21\/welcome-visitors\/"},"modified":"2017-09-15T16:27:37","modified_gmt":"2017-09-15T16:27:37","slug":"welcome-visitors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/suigenerisbrewing.com\/index.php\/2013\/08\/21\/welcome-visitors\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome Visitors!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So without me noticing it the 1-year anniversary of my blog has come and gone (for the record, it was July 6th). \u00a0Over the past year my traffic has grown exponentially &#8211; from a few hits per month for the first four or five months (most of which were probably just me) to the past three months where I&#8217;ve averaged 1500-2500 \u00a0per month (most of which may still just be me).<\/p>\n<p>Hits aside, the sources of my traffic have been a surprise, and have identified a number of cool brewing resources that I had no idea existed. \u00a0I thought I&#8217;d do a bit of a shout-out; both as a way of thanking the people at these sites for their readership, and to share some cool resources that may be of interest:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Blogs:<\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/bootlegbiology.com\/\">Bootleg Biology<\/a>: An attempt to create an &#8220;open-source&#8221; \u00a0wild yeast resource for home brewers. \u00a0While in the early stages, bootleg biology is seeking to create a &#8220;library&#8221; of local yeasts from across the USA (and perhaps beyond?). \u00a0Includes a mix of blog posts &amp; information pages. \u00a0A project worth following, and to join.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/bkyeast.wordpress.com\/\">BKYeast<\/a>: A blog by Dimitri &#8211; a man with a very similar background to my own (cell biologist, home brewer). \u00a0Lots of information on brew science, wild brewing, and a yeast collection I&#8217;d love to get my hands on!<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/dcylab.wordpress.com\/\">DC Yeast Lab<\/a>: A great blog on brewing science &amp; wild brewing. \u00a0This blogger and I have enjoyed a successful yeast exchange.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/eurekabrewing.wordpress.com\/\">Eureka Brewing<\/a>: A blogger with similar goals to my own. \u00a0This was one of the blogs that motivated me to start my own.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Sites:<\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.homebrewtalk.com\/\">Homebrew Talk<\/a>: To my knowledge this is the largest discussion forum on the &#8216;net for homebrewing, and a site I am an active member of. \u00a0A fantastic resource.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.canadianhomebrewers.com\/\">Canadian Home Brewers<\/a>: Another web forum I participate in &#8211; and apparently in which I self-promote a little too much&#8230;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/askscience\/comments\/1hhzcn\/why_do_we_have_different_sized_dogs_but_all_the\/\">Reddit<\/a>: I get a lot of hits from reddit; and often from odd sections. \u00a0My #1 source is a reddit thread on. . .<i>Why do we have different sized dogs but all the domestic cats are (roughly) the same size?<\/i>\u00a0 Yep, I don&#8217;t get it either.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/hobbybrauer.de\/\">http:\/\/hobbybrauer.de\/<\/a>: A German homebrew forum. \u00a0My German is quite rusty, but my limited Germanic capacity makes me believe that it is an active &amp; interesting forum.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.beerborg.com\/index\/\">BeerBorg<\/a>: A beer-brewing forum with a Star Trek bent. \u00a0I&#8217;m not sure if this is a regional group or a more general board.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So without me noticing it the 1-year anniversary of my blog has come and gone (for the record, it was<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_dont_email_post_to_subs":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":false,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","default_image_id":0,"font":"","enabled":false},"version":2}},"categories":[4,74],"tags":[132,202],"class_list":["post-632","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-homebrewing","category-random_posts","tag-good-blog-posts","tag-useful-links"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Welcome Visitors!
