The Fifty Meter Beer Project Part 2 – Planting Barley

April 8th, 2023.

Day 2 of my fifty meter beer project, and today I’m planting the barley beds that I prepared yesterday. I’m plating two varieties – Harrington’s, which is a Canadian 2-row malting barley from the 80’s and 90’s that we used to grow on my family’s farms, and Bere (pronounced “bear”), a Viking-age 6-row barley thought to originate in Norway. It’ll probably be a week or two before the barley or hops do anything interesting, so it’ll be a bit until my next video in this series.

I’m learning a new video editing suite, so the cuts are a little rough…but at least they work.
